Do I need my own API key?
Yes. Recflow is strictly Bring-Your-Own-Key: it ships with zero embedded credentials. On first run you paste in your own Google Gemini or OpenAI API key, whichever provider you'd rather use.
Does this send my voice anywhere else?
No. There is no Recflow backend. Audio is written to a temp WAV file for one capture only, sent directly over HTTPS to Google's or OpenAI's API for transcription, then the temp file is deleted immediately.
What if keystroke injection doesn't work on my machine?
Some locked-down corporate machines block synthetic keyboard input (SendInput). When that happens, Recflow automatically falls back to a clipboard paste instead, so you still get your text.
