Zero embedded API keys
Recflow ships with none. You paste in your own Gemini or OpenAI key on first run, nothing is bundled or hidden inside the app.
Zero Recflow backend
There is no Recflow server sitting in the middle. Once your key leaves your machine, it's a direct HTTPS call to Google's or OpenAI's API, whichever you chose.
Audio never lingers
Each capture is written to a temp WAV file for the duration of that one recording, then deleted immediately after transcription.
Everything stays on your machine
Your local database and encrypted key store live under your own user profile (%APPDATA%\Recflow on Windows, Application Support on Mac). Nothing is synced anywhere.

Frequently asked
Do I need my own API key?
Yes. Recflow is strictly Bring-Your-Own-Key: it ships with zero embedded credentials. On first run you paste in your own Google Gemini or OpenAI API key, whichever provider you'd rather use.
Does this send my voice anywhere else?
No. There is no Recflow backend. Audio is written to a temp WAV file for one capture only, sent directly over HTTPS to Google's or OpenAI's API for transcription, then the temp file is deleted immediately.
What if keystroke injection doesn't work on my machine?
Some locked-down corporate machines block synthetic keyboard input. When that happens, Recflow automatically falls back to a clipboard paste instead, so you still get your text. On Mac, Recflow pastes by default and restores your clipboard afterwards.
Is it free?
No, Recflow is ₹299 for a lifetime license, one-time payment, currently at a limited-time discount. Usage of Gemini or OpenAI is separate, billed directly by them under your own API key.
Mac: first launch
Recflow is a brand-new Mac app, so macOS asks you to allow it once. Here's exactly what to click. It takes about a minute.
Move Recflow to Applications
macOS shows a warning: click “Done”
You'll see “Recflow” Not Opened. This is normal for new apps that aren't in the App Store yet. Click Done.
Allow it in System Settings
Open System Settings › Privacy & Security and scroll down to Security. Next to “Recflow” was blocked to protect your Mac, click Open Anyway, then confirm with your password or Touch ID. You only do this once.
Allow permissions & start dictating
Note: Recflow isn't part of the Apple Developer Program ($99/year) yet. That's why macOS blocks the direct download and shows this warning. Please forgive me for the extra steps. I'll get the plan soon, so Recflow opens with a simple double-click.
